The Tar River Youth Softball 10U All-Stars claimed the Tar Heel Inc, District 4 Championship at their district tournament held in Wendell June 25-27. The tournament included teams from Wendell, South Granville, Louisburg, and Youngsville. The team won games over Wendell (16-0) and Youngsville (5-0) to reach the championship game. In the championship game, they defeated Youngsville (11-1) to claim the district title. While other age groups have qualified for the Tar Heel State Tournament, this is the league's first 10U Tar Heel District 4 title and 10U Tar Heel State Tournament appearance.
The Western Harnett 10u All Stars are ready to light up the tournament with a talented roster and a never-quit attitude. Leading the offense are power hitters Reagan McDonald and Grace Sparks, while Lainey Young, and Tristyn Spivey consistently put the ball in play and keep rallies going. In the circle, Cora Ashworth and Cassidy Powell give Western a strong one-two pitching punch, and the defense is anchored by standout fielders Avery Clerkley, Halle Cummings, and Hayla Hoover. Rounding out this well-balanced squad are key contributors Brynlie Farra, Baylee Lowdermilk, and Ainslee Fridley, whose hustle and teamwork help make Western a tough opponent every time they take the field. Guided by coaches Aubree Bass, Jason Ashworth, and Daniel Fridley, Western is bringing energy, determination, and plenty of excitement to the tournament.

The Cashie U10 All-Stars are bringing determination, teamwork, and plenty of excitement to the Tar Heel State Championship as they prepare to compete against some of North Carolina's top young teams. Led by coaches Elliott Farless, Crystal Godwin, Will Davidson, and Shane Leggett, this talented group has worked hard throughout the season to earn its place on the state's biggest stage. Ridley Farless, Reagan Leggett, Avery Bass, Ellie Ivey, Abby Northcott, Sarah Newbern, Brinleigh Spence, Sadie Davidson, Aubrey Phelps, Lillian Askew, Helen Godwin, and Paisley Copeland each contribute to a close-knit team that plays with hustle, sportsmanship, and confidence. With a love for the game and a commitment to playing for one another, Cashie is ready to make lasting memories and enjoy every moment of the Tar Heel State Championship.

The Wilkes 10U All-Stars traveled to Ashe County for the District Tournament and delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, capturing the District Championship in impressive fashion.
Wilkes opened the tournament with a 12-0 victory over Yancey before defeating Alleghany 12-1 in the second round. The team continued its winning streak with a 10-0 shutout over Surry and then capped off the tournament by defeating Surry again 15-0 in the championship game.
Over four games, the Wilkes 10U All-Stars outscored their opponents 49-1, showcasing outstanding pitching, defense, and timely hitting.
The pitching staff was led by Cora McNeill, who struck out an incredible 34 batters during the tournament. Caroline Wayne added four strikeouts in the victory over Alleghany, helping keep opposing offenses under control throughout the tournament.
Offensively, the team was just as impressive, collecting 60 total hits while consistently putting pressure on opposing defenses.

The 10U Shelby All-Star team is excited for the opportunity to represent the District 1 Tar Heel region in the state tournament.
In 2024, this group finished state runner up in the Tar Heel 8U division in Benson, NC.
With over 250 games played together over the past three years, they have developed a special bond and grit that is second to none.
Their “win the game 1 inning at a time” mentality has pushed them through several big moments over the past three years.
