Welcome to Laurinburg and Scotland County!!!

The Laurinburg Optimist Club is excited and pleased to host the 2026 North Carolina Tar Heel Leagues Softball State Tournament at Optimist Park in Laurinburg, North Carolina from Thursday, July 16 through Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Our volunteers have worked hard to make this a great experience for everyone involved. 

While you are here, we hope you are able to join our community to dine, shop, and enjoy community fellowship. In welcoming teams to our community, a number of events have been scheduled to allow you to enjoy the hospitality of Laurinburg and Scotland County.

Friday Night Concert

We are excited to announce that the Laurinburg Chamber of Commerce has scheduled one of their Laurinburg After Five Concerts for downtown Laurinburg on Friday night from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.  The concert will feature Jim Quick and Coastline performing many of their beach music hits, vendors and fun.  

Saturday Morning Farmers Market 

Downtown will also be the site for our community's monthly Farmers Market on Saturday morning from 9:00 am - noon.

Saturday Night Baseball

Laurinburg's Weekend Events conclude on Saturday night with the Highland Hooligans home finale.  The Hooligans compete in the Olde North State Collegiate Wooden Bat League.  With players from all over the country coming to compete  in Laurinburg, the Hooligan's play in Legion Park in the Downtown District and are a point of pride for the community.  First pitch is at 7:00 pm and provides a great way to cap off your team's stay in Laurinburg.

We have worked with our local Tourism organization to secure hotel rooms for the teams and Tar Heel Leagues, Inc. officials.  There is a wide selection to choose from.  We have also have a wide selection of restaurants located near the parks, and have worked with many of them to provide player and family discounts.  Click here for Hotel and Dining options.
